by the time i get to the east it will be the west
by the time i get to the east it will be the west
the sun will go down on me
even as i lust over its reflection in the moon
i’ll let it happen
it only makes sense
all the parts of the body
that fit into place
but never click
i can have her
she’s that close
your words only look warm
you aren’t really there anymore
you’re a dark star
not a lie
just a reflection
of something i saw once
something we once held
in our hands
now the truth just ricochets
off distant stars
not a lie
only misdirection
and i can come
but i might not be able to make it
